Prayers for Healing

Prayers for Healing They are the “Acts” emanated from the International Colloquium on Prayer for Healing and the Charimatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. The meeting, held in Rome in 2001, was convened by the Pontifical Council for the Laity together with ICCRS. The assembly of 87 invited partecipants from the worldwide Catholic Charismatic Renewal together with 12 Vatican representatives was presided over by the President on the Pontifical Council, Card. James Francis Stafford. The meeting was initiated to discuss the healing guidelines which were set out in the Instruction on Prayer for Healing. During the three days of this gathering, some theologians presented papers which dealt with the scriptural and patristic, historical and liturgical, canonical and ecumenical aspects of the healing ministry in the Catholic Church. Round table discussions reflected on the topics of exorcism and deliverance, and on the spiritual, physical, and psychological dimensions associated with healing. This book will be of great assistance to those who seek to continue their function within the healing ministry of Jesus, recalling the promise which he gave to his disciples: “...they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover…” (Mk 16:18).
